Dr. Pizzorno served as Founding President of Bastyr University — the first accredited natural medicine university in the US — and has practiced natural medicine for over half a century (since 1975). His work on environmental medicine, toxin load, and functional diagnostics is the scientific backbone of everything we do.
David has spent 50+ years at the frontier of health innovation — raising $60M+ in private capital, co-founding pH Sciences and Freedom Medicine, and building networks that span integrative medicine, healthcare policy, and corporate expression of healthy ideas. He brings that reach and hard-won wisdom to Aven's mission of making health intelligence accessible to everyone.
That experience turned a technology career into a mission. Brent has since founded and led digital health and med-tech ventures, partnered with major healthcare systems, and built award-winning platforms — all in pursuit of the same goal: making health intelligence that was only available to the privileged few accessible to everyone.
